Job Description

As a Product Manager for Visa Data Manager, you will be integral in steering innovation throughout the product development lifecycle.

You will function as the product manager delivering next-generation data solutions to our customers, and playing an important role in brainstorming and co-developing new features and products that address the unique needs of Visa's customers.

Your involvement will span all stages of the product lifecycle, including strategic planning, feature selection, and overseeing tactical activities.

We seek a proactive individual, ready to learn and utilize new technologies.

You should be capable of working both independently and collaboratively. Your role in product management will be a cornerstone of our strategy to deliver world-class data solutions to the market.

Your focus will be on Visa Data Manager, our world-class data solution designed for everyone from executives and business users to analysts.

Visa Data Manager aids in making intelligent, data-driven business decisions based on aggregated historical card transaction data.

Your responsibilities will also encompass writing Epics and Features and understanding product strategy. You will also be involved in value-added services such as data performance management.

Experience with both waterfall and agile development methodologies is essential.

This role is based in Atlanta, GA, Austin, TX or Highlands Ranch, CO and reporting directly to the Senior Director, Data Product Management.

Essential functions :

Manage VDM User Interface, directly guiding and partnering with teams of data experts, data architects and developers to deliver the product vision.

Drive delivery sprints, creating writing and revising epics and feature in JIRA to support development, performing user acceptance testing, and developing release notes.

Lead design and delivery of data processing, data models, as well as new and existing data tables that support VDM-specific set of analytics solutions, including reports, dashboards, and insights pages.

Review, update, and create new specs and requirements, including user documentation to support VDM adoption.

Product management and business leadership :

  • Working with technology, product, legal, and other Visa teams to define the vision, requirements, and dependencies of new product applications, modules, or enhancements.
  • Business case development : work with Visa partners to establish business cases and projected ROI on investment, identify and prioritize target markets.
  • Competitive analysis : develop and maintain a deep understanding of competitive product and go to market strategies to inform business strategy.
  • Develop strong working relationships with product, technology, risk, client support, consulting, marketing, and sales organization.

Incubate and test new features :

  • Use human centered design thinking techniques to shape the vision and functionality of the product, and to test with clients and prospective users through front-end prototypes.
  • Client research thinking sessions : lead or support client research, including design thinking sessions and leading interviews with financial institution executives and non-executives.
  • Client requirements synthesis : establish and refine client requirements based on design feedback and prioritize key functionality to prototype.
  • Prototype development & testing : support the development of prototypes, client feedback sessions.
  • Design and prototype measurement : Develop processes and mechanisms to track results of product and service pilots, determine market readiness and validate business plans.

Support Agile development and market launch activities :

  • Support the development of the platform using agile methodology.
  • Support delivery sprints : write epics and stories in JIRA to support development, support product management in delivery sprints, including in release & sprint planning, sprint execution, and reviews.
  • Manage product backlog : help prioritize and manage the product backlog and support planning of development sprints.
  • User acceptance testing : perform user acceptance testing and provide release notes for features or functionality.
  • Support go-to-market pilot & full launch : support the go-to-market launch by collaborating with sales delivery and marketing teams to define product messaging, training material, and support marketing collateral that supports broader launch.
  • Roadmap : Assist in preparing and maintaining the product roadmap which defines product enhancements for short- and long-term releases

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership / site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

5 or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 5 or more years successful post college product or functional management experience. Masters or MBA degree is a plus
  • 5 years combined experience in product development and building and specifying Web-based business applications, with preferably 3 years in payment systems and or financial services.
  • Ability to work some flexible hours due to varying time zones across Visa’s regions. We are a global product
  • You have ability to work cross-functionally and influence decisions and actions without complete authority over the various teams
  • You have strong communication skills oral or written to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • You have experience working with technology teams using Agile methodologies to drive product development and delivery.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously, highly motived and able to work against aggressive schedules.
  • Experience gathering the Voice of Customer and translating it into product feature requirements.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills to synthesize and communicate complex information effectively.
  • Ability to set the vision, strategy, define success metrics and make decisions around product growth.
  • Skill to dissect a data file, read file specs and author both technical documentation and marketing collateral.
  • You have prior experience working on products with large volume of data is a plus.
  • This person may need to travel up to 10% percent of the time

Additional Information

Work Hours : Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements : This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental / Physical Requirements : This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY : The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 112,500 to 152,600 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).

Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
