Our Radiologic Technologists are responsible for providing quality care and service to the patients who visit our Urgent Care centers.

Key Responsibilities
- Identifies and prepares patients for X-Ray exams.
- Performs diagnostic and / or therapeutic quality imaging procedures for patient care population.
- Operates modality specific and technical equipment related to patient care imaging, image processing, image transmission, image archiving, and computerized electronic medical records.
- Reviews patient history and shares any observations with Providers.
- Uses critical thinking principles in making decisions while following company’s policies.
- Keeps inventory and maintains supplies, to include stocking rooms.
- Knowledgeable about radiology equipment and ensures its proper operations.
- Minimize patients’ exposure to radiation during X- Ray Imaging through the application of shielding techniques and careful positioning of patients.
- Respond to and / or refer patient and pharmacy phone consultations, documenting appropriately in EMR.
- Manage and schedule patients’ appointments as needed.
- Offers and fills appropriate medications accurately in house as prescribed by physician.
- Collaborates with team on data and achieving length of stay goals for patient satisfaction and departmental goals.
- Assists with administrative and registration functions, when not performing radiological examinations.
- Consistently audits records for appropriate billing. Identifies the correct procedure code is supported by diagnosis code.
- Accurately edits claims for modifiers in compliance with CMS, AMA, and CPT coding guidelines.
- Coordinates coding audits and addendums with registration staff for accurate and complete billing.
- Prepare patient(s) for and assist with examination and / or treatment.
- Perform triage and obtain vital signs.
- Obtain and timely and accurately document patient history in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collect and maintain all patient and business documents while always maintaining confidentiality.
- Collect routine laboratory specimens, urinalysis and / or oral swabs (to include point of care testing).
- Train and assist with our Occupational Medicine service line utilizing our current EMR system, drug screening, breath alcohol testing, audiograms, respiratory fit, pulmonary function testing and / or abiding by the systems and / or protocols set forth by WellStreet.
- Understand and enforce standard health care regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for quality assurance program for compliance with CLIA waived laboratory and patient result trackers
- Always ensure HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Perform office procedures including all general administrative duties; ability to operate all office medical equipment.
- Required to travel to various locations as needed based on staffing and volume.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved educational program.
- Must have American Registry of Radiologic Technologists credentials in Radiography (R).
- Must have South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCQRSA) credentials.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient management skills.
- Ability to use EMR, PACS and basic knowledge of computer programs.
