Job Summary
The Instructional Designer for Learning and Organizational Development is primarily responsible for developing interactive and instruction-based material and the project management functions of all department / organization-wide learning implementations.
They facilitate consultative services and support for all learning initiatives which impact all team members of Prisma Health.
They employ best practices in educational design, working closely with content and subject matter experts (SMEs) to enhance learner experience and increase performance and productivity.
They are required to stay abreast of emerging technology and learning methodologies through research, networking, attending workshops, webinars and other relative learning events, and by actively participating in collaborative partnerships with national / international organizations highly regarded for leading edge learning.
They are highly adept in using ADDIE, SAM, Blooms Taxonomy and other critical instructional design theories and methodologies / project management platforms.
Extremely efficient in using relevant authoring and design tools : Articulate, uPerform, etc. They create customized course design and ensures high functionality for all learning modalities and blending learning strategies, including ILT, job aids, eLearning interactive concepts, simulations and virtual learning.
Accountabilities
Applies instructional design theories and methods (ADDIE,SAM, Individualized Instruction, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and the like), and project management best practices to develop virtual (synchronous and asynchronous), blended and in-person instruction and programs.
Analyzes and diagnoses the educational needs of the organization, teams and departments to provide the appropriate educational interactions with the best delivery methods to impact educational gaps and desired, measurable outcomes.
Conducts needs assessments through research, interviews, surveys, shadowing, and focus groups.
Collaborates with stakeholders, SMEs and internal L&OD team, to create scope and sequence of curriculum to identify learning gaps, create project agreement, curriculum map and structure, outline and evaluation methods, based on audience needs.
Organizes information and develops instructional materials that transform complex, industry-related information into professionally written, easy to understand, interactive courses and job aids.
Develops learning solutions, performance support and on-the-job experiences in a variety of media and delivery methods, including instructor-led (classroom and virtual), job aids and e-learning (Articulate 360), tutorials, references, audio and video scripts, videos, and tests them within the LMS.
Manages project timeline and resources to ensure deliverables are completed in scope and on schedule; sets priorities based on organization strategy, leadership, and cultural shifts.
Communicates and works collaboratively within the organization to respond creatively to a rapidly changing environment and incorporates organization change initiatives, mission, vision and values and diversity and inclusion into learning products.
Informs organization of cutting edge research and best practices related to mobile learning, virtual webinar learning performance support and micro-learning.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's Degree - instructional design, educational technology or related field
- 5 years - instructional design
