Overview
Stonehill College invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, starting in Fall 2020.
Stonehill is a private Catholic college founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1948, located on a 384-acre campus in Easton, Massachusetts, with a student-to-faculty ratio of 13 : 1 and 2,400+ students enrolled in 80+ programs across liberal arts, sciences, and pre-professional fields. Position and areas of interest
We are interested in applicants with background in astrophysics, astronomy, cosmology, geophysics or, more generally, geosciences. We may also consider a particle physicist or a plasma physicist with long-term involvement in outside projects potentially accessible to students. A strong preference is for applicants with an experimental and / or observational background, plus knowledge of computational methods and, ideally, computer simulations of physical systems.
