Senior Post-Silicon Validation & Characterization Engineer - Ethernet Interfaces
We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Post-Silicon Validation & Characterization Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cutting-edge Ethernet IP and interfaces integrated into our upcoming ASICs.
You will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive validation and characterization plans, meticulously examining compliance with the relevant IEEE .
3 standards. Your deep understanding of Ethernet technologies, proficiency with test equipment, and knowledge of Forward Error Correction (FEC) will be instrumental in achieving success in this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead the development and execution of post-silicon validation and characterization plans for Ethernet interfaces.
- Collaborate with design, architecture, and firmware teams to define test cases and ensure comprehensive coverage of functional, performance, and power requirements.
- Select, configure, and operate a variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, BERTs (Bit Error Rate Testers), logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
- Develop automated test scripts and frameworks to improve efficiency and repeatability of testing.
- Analyze test results, identify and debug issues, and work with cross-functional teams to drive resolution.
- Generate detailed reports documenting test results, analysis, and conclusions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Ethernet technologies and IEEE standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in validation and characterization methodologies.
Required Skills :
- BSEE or MSEE with 5+ years of experience in post-silicon validation and characterization of high-speed interfaces.
- Strong understanding of Ethernet technologies, including various IEEE .3 clauses (e.g., 10GBASE-T, 25GBASE-CR, GBASE-KR4).
- Expertise in test equipment operation and automation, including oscilloscopes, BERTs, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers.
- Deep knowledge of Forward Error Correction (FEC) techniques and their implementation in Ethernet systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, TCL) for test automation and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
