Analyst
The Analyst at MPG Operations LLC in New York, NY will analyze trade efficiency and develop intraday execution models optimized for cost and market opportunity. Perform optimal execution, liquidity research, and actively monitor trading and investment limits. Develop portfolio construction tools within the pre-defined risk guidelines set by the Senior Portfolio Manager. Maintain and enhance these self-built models and quantitative tools. Make timely changes to the portfolio to stay in line with initial investment objectives and asset allocation guidelines. Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of quantitative models. Create models that leverage alpha to capitalize on market inefficiencies, particularly within the structured credit market relevant to this position. Develop infrastructure and systems to define data requirements, gather and validate information, and analyze strength and weakness of securities in designated markets. Build a scalable investment framework to be used by the Senior Portfolio Manager to implement directional market views and identify prudent market opportunities and structure trades that provide a limited loss risk profile. Evaluate interest rate exposure and formulate hedging strategies using interest rate instruments. Actively monitor trading investments and limits on a day-to-day basis and ensure compliance with all risk and trading limits imposed on the portfolio on an ongoing basis. Develop back-testing models with appropriate simulation environments to accurately test trade ideas. This position may involve work at unanticipated Millennium locations in the United States. Salary : $150,000 - $200,000 per year. Minimum requirements : Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, or a related field, plus 2 years in a professional analyst, or related, occupation in the financial or investment industry. Must include 2 years of experience with each of the following : (1) analyzing and pricing structured credit investments, including CMBS, CRE CLOs, and RMBS; (2) real estate equity or credit underwriting major property @types, including residential, retail, office, hospitality, and industrial real estate; (3) conducting real estate due diligence, including initiating outreach with local real estate brokers, interviewing current and prospective tenants, and reviewing legal documents, including tenant leases, loan documents, physical condition reports, title reports, seismic reports, and zoning studies; (4) communicating with commercial and residential real estate brokers, sell-side broker-dealers, and data vendor providers; and, (5) financial modeling and risk software including Python, Intex, Trepp, Argus, YieldBook, Bloomberg, and Excel.
