Our Financial Project Controllers (aka Commercial Project Managers) are responsible for commercial aspects related to customer contracts - from the sales phase to execution, to project completion and encompass sales controlling, performance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting.

This position partners with Customers, Suppliers, Project Managers, Engineers, Sales, Procurement, Legal, regional and national Finance colleagues, and internal and external Auditors, as well as the Siemens Financial Services Division (the Siemens entity that offers financing solutions to clients).

This is a hybrid working environment position, creating flexibility where you work. Ideally, you would work remotely 2 days and 3 days either in the Siemens Smart Infrastructure office located in Morristown, NJ or at active-project customer job sites.

As a Financial Project Controller / Commercial Project Manager, you will :

Ensure compliance with commercial and administrational policies, risk management processes, and financial set-up (including WBS, project budget, and internal contractual arrangements) as per Siemens guidelines.

Analyze customer requirements for commercial and contractual feasibility and ensure proper handover, financial planning, forecasting, and controlling.

  • Support the Project Manager in optimizing financial results (e.g., gross profit, cash flow, assets) with due care, managing and assessing risks & and opportunities, implementing response activities, and driving measures to improve project performance and quality as per Siemens guidelines.
  • Manage financial performance, revenue recognition, and compliance with Siemens accounting policies (US-GAAP / IFRS), internal controls (e.

g., export control, signature authorities), and contractual requirements (e.g., performance guarantees, insurances, taxes, sureties) to achieve project commitments.

  • Support the Project Manager in change management, obtaining verification and approval of variations, managing Account Receivables, issuing timely invoices, and coordinating with purchasing representatives to ensure best available bids and consistent terms with suppliers / subcontractors.
  • Actively manage commercial issues with customers' representatives, influence the team for positive action and accountability, and regularly perform and feed lessons-learned activities into the project and organization.
  • Ensure data integrity between systems, monitor actual vs planned financials, prevent negative margin slippage, and manage project cash flow and contractual requirements to ensure achievement of project goals.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years professional experience in the financial management of complex projects (e.g. Project Coordinator, Contract Administrator, or other similar position);

either the type of construction projects completed by Siemens or Siemens' direct competitors, non-construction projects completed by other Siemens divisions, or similar industry-related projects

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Flexibility to work hybrid, both remotely (2 days) and a combination of either Siemens office located in Morristown, NJ or an active-project customer site (3 days)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certified Public Account certificate
  • Proficiency with SAP Modules or similar ERP system
  • Master’s Degree
  • 8+ years of professional experience in the financial management of complex projects (e.g. Project Coordinator, Contract Administrator, or other similar position);

either the type of construction projects completed by Siemens or industry similar, or non-construction projects completed by other Siemens divisions

The pay range for this position is $77,600 - $133,000 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
