I. Job Summary
The Pool & Beach Safety & Security Officer is essential to ensure that all residents, guests, and visitors visiting the Cabana Pool, Sunrise & Sunset Pools, Beach operating area, and Sunrise Lawn area are properly registered and are issued wristbands after presenting proper credentials to the security team.
This position is responsible for patrolling the Pool & Carillon Beach operating area to ensure that all persons are compliant with the Hotel resort policies as well as adhering to Condominium Rules and regulations.
Work Schedule : Four (4) Day Work Week - 10-hour Shifts
Position Applicable for Bonus Pay : Yes (Up to $2,000.00 per year)
II. Essential Job Functions
A. Follow directions thoroughly, accurately, and consistently.
B. Anticipate and execute Resident, Guest, and Visitor needs.
C. Knowledge and familiarity with residential unit owners, repeat & loyal guests, and VIPs.
D. Ensure that all persons wishing to enter and enjoy the facility amenities such as the pools and Beach area provide proper credentials and are issued a wristband.
E. Responsible for overseeing all security-related aspects of the Pools and Carillon Beach operating area and safety-related matters.
F. Ensure that Pools and Beach operating areas are checked hourly to ensure hotel and condominium access control compliance.
G. Maintain accurate numbers of persons who have accessed the area and accurately separate them into respective sections.
H. Work with a positive attitude and cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
I. Display integrity and maintain an industrious work ethic to perform shifts with minimal supervision.
J. Maintain confidentiality of guest and resident information and pertinent resort data.
K. Properly document events and incident reports which may at a later time be used in legal situations.
L. Conduct regular patrols of the pool and beach areas using provided equipment to ensure the safety and security of guests, residents, and property.
M. Manage the security base operations, including operating necessary security equipment and monitoring CCTV systems for the pool and beach areas.
N. Issue and manage keys, radios, and other communication devices, utilizing registration logs for tracking purposes.
O. Perform detailed investigations of incidents within the pool and beach areas, documenting all activities with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
P. Handle lost and found items, ensuring secure custody and timely return to rightful owners.
Q. Execute locking and unlocking of access points to pool and beach areas, and manage alarm systems as required.
R. Implement emergency response procedures specific to pool and beach settings, including first aid and accident reporting.
S. Conduct regular security and safety checks of pool and beach facilities at various times to ensure compliance with safety standards.
T. Monitor weather conditions affecting pool and beach areas, coordinating with the team to implement inclement weather procedures.
U. Oversee the inventory of security equipment dedicated to pool and beach operations.
V. Provide assistance with technical issues related to door locks and safes within the pool and beach areas.
W. Address and manage conduct violations and ensure adherence to Carillon policies within pool and beach premises.
X. Offer support to Carillon personnel and undertake additional duties as directed by the Supervisor to enhance pool and beach safety and security.
Y. Perform other duties as assigned.
III. Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
A. High School Diploma or equivalent, with a preference for additional education or training in security, safety, or related fields.
B. Minimum of 2 years of experience in security roles, ideally with a focus on pool and beach environments in a Hotel / Resort setting.
C. Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence, able to interact positively with guests, residents, and team members.
D. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report writing and documentation.
E. Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems, make decisions under pressure, and handle emergency situations specific to pool and beach environments.
F. Familiarity with conducting physical patrols and the physical ability to respond quickly in emergency situations, including lifting and carrying equipment.
G. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, according to the operational needs of the pool and beach areas.
H. CPR / First Aid certification is highly preferred, with a focus on skills applicable to pool and beach safety incidents.
