Job Details

We are seeking a skilled Machine Translation (MT) Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, specifically in the area of neural machine translation.

Our goal is to develop our own translation models to rapidly deliver high quality translations for our marketing teams, ensuring consistent global messaging is available.

This Expert brings significant experience in crafting, developing, training, and delivering machine translation data sets, training models, and machine learning algorithms.

They show rigor in how they prototype, test, and evaluate algorithm performance both in the testing phase of algorithm development and in handling production algorithms.

They demonstrate sophisticated knowledge of machine translation techniques along with ensuring the ethical use of data in the algorithm design process.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and fine-tune NMT systems to improve translation quality and efficiency
  • Conduct data analysis and model testing to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance translation accuracy and fluency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand translation needs and customize models for specific languages, dialects, and industry jargon
  • Implement translation quality evaluation tools to improve confidence in translation output
  • Serve as the subject matter authority on all things machine translation and natural language processing
  • Find opportunities to introduce generative AI solutions into the content translation process
  • Translate the latest research in NMT to further improve machine translation

Required Skills

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as computational linguistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, mathematics, cognitive science, or other relevant quantitative field
  • Experience working with and optimizing machine translation engines (e.g., Amazon Translate, Google Translate)
  • Knowledge of Computational Linguistics
  • Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with fine-tuning approaches and training models
  • Experience with Machine Learning (ML), with a particular emphasis on Machine Translation (MT) and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Proven track record to comprehend, interpret, and apply innovative research into consumer-oriented products
  • Must have superb quantitative reasoning and interpretation skills with strong ability to provide analysis-driven business insight and recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well with peers and leaders across data science, marketing, and engineering organizations
  • Creative problem-solver who simplifies problems to their core elements
