Responsibilities : Position Summary :
Position Summary :
The incumbent provides patient care to patients in the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute. The nurse incorporates the psycho-motor and age-appropriate cognitive skills of the patient / family / significant other utilizing knowledge of patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
Assists in patient research accrual by varied projects and reviewing patient schedules against available protocols. Acts as a role model to students and Clinical Nurse's new to the unit.
Functions as a (PCC)Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor / manager.

Required Qualifications :
Proven ability to work with a broad variety of individuals from various cultural, educational and economic backgrounds.
One year of Oncology experience or one year of MedSurg experience
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Minimum of six months demonstrated infusion experience
Minimum of 6 months demonstrated nursing experience
Knowledge and practice of body mechanics
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Excellent organizational skills, problem solving skills and the ability to coordinate multiple assignments / projects
Demonstrates responsibility, accountability, discretion and sound judgment.
Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
Current California RN license
Complete and pass the Fundamentals and Clinical Applications of IV Nutrient Therapies Course within first year of employment
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Ability to work effectively with colleagues, physicians and others as part of a care team
Ability to problem solve
Ability to multitask within a dynamic and fluid work environment
Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications :
Understanding of JCAHO requirements
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
