Key job responsibilities

The primary objective is to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the global fleet of AWS Rack Power products. This involves proactively detecting and identifying emerging issues through robust telemetry monitoring and advanced analytics.

When problems arise, the role requires in-depth technical investigation, including hands-on lab testing and troubleshooting, to uncover the root causes.

Maintaining high levels of internal customer satisfaction is crucial, which means providing fast and cost-effective resolutions to issues while upholding quality standards.

Detailed failure analysis and root cause analysis of fleet data are essential to drive hardware and firmware improvements.

The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to redesign, modify, and validate updated product designs.

Throughout these efforts, the focus is on enhancing the reliability and performance of the Rack Power products to support the mission-critical operations of the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • tBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • t3+ years of electrical engineering experience specifically in power electronics, designing, testing, and debugging power electronics such as AC / DC, DC / DC and DC / AC power conversion, switching power supplies, driver circuits, and battery systems
  • tHW Lab experience : setting up prototypes, developing tests and running tests as well as experience developing tests and automating their execution with one or more programming / scripting languages.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • tDeep understanding of different power electronics circuit topologies as well as experience designing or testing products for safety, compliance, and regulatory standards
  • tExperience with technologies such as : power optimization, board design, thermal, mechanical, BIOS, BMC, signal integrity, networking as well as working with overseas CM / OEM / ODM vendors in product development
  • tAbility to apply critical thinking in complex situations; experience working in cross functional groups including mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, test, reliability, and failure analysis.
  • tExperience with data center power distribution to server racks and within server racks as well as gathering requirements and developing server specifications and a demonstrated ability to engage technology developers in the industry to track and apply emerging technologies to innovative server designs

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,100 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000 / year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
