Overview
LMI currently has an opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to support an Intelligence Community customer in the McLean area.
The ideal candidate will identify opportunities for AI / ML and develop AI / ML models for intelligence analysis. This role involves researching, strategizing, developing, and deploying AI / ML models to enhance intelligence capabilities, streamline workflows, and support decision-making.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will identify opportunities for innovation and leverage advanced AI / ML techniques as a Senior Data Scientist for an Intelligence Community (IC) client providing thought leadership with current and future efforts.
Key responsibilities include :
- Identify opportunities for AI / ML integration to enhance intelligence analysis and workflows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and identify potential AI / ML solutions.
- Design and implement scalable AI / ML models for tasks such as information retrieval, natural language processing, predictive analytics, and automation.
- Source and process large datasets from diverse sources.
- Deploy AI / ML models into production environments and integrate with existing systems.
- Monitor model performance and retrain models as needed.
- Research and explore new AI / ML methodologies.
- Work closely with intelligence analysts and other cross-functional teams to source requirements and implement AI / ML solutions effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science, with a focus on AI / ML.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with AI / ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Proven track record of developing and deploying AI / ML models in a professional setting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex issues.
- Strong ability to analyze and interpret large datasets.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in the intelligence or defense sector is highly desirable.
- TS / SCI with polygraph is required.
