Job Title : Special Education Teacher
Location : Twin Falls, Idaho
Job Summary : We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Twin Falls, Idaho.
The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals.
This position requires collaboration with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt and modify instructional materials and methods to meet the needs of students.
- Assess students' abilities and learning needs using various diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to provide inclusive education opportunities.
- municate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns.
- Provide support and guidance to paraprofessionals and teaching assistants.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Idaho teaching certification in Special Education (K-12).
- Endorsements in specific areas of special education (e.g., Learning Disabilities, Emotional Behavioral Disorders) are preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
Licensure and Certification Requirements :
- Idaho Standard Instructional Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
- Passed the required Praxis II exam(s) in Special Education.
- Background check and fingerprint clearance as required by Idaho State Department of Education.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and its application in the classroom.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around the classroom for extended periods.
- Ability to implement physical interventions and handle physical demands related to student needs.
Work Environment :
- Work is performed in a school environment with moderate noise levels.
- Interaction with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators.
