What you’ll do
As the Manager of the Motor Design Team, you will lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and optimization of electric motors for high-performance applications using Niron’s Iron Nitride magnets. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in electric motor design (including permanent magnet motors), proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation in electromechanical systems. We have a once-in-a-generation new magnetic material. We are building a world-class motor team, and we are looking for the person who will lead it.
- Lead, mentor and manage a team of motor design engineers to drive innovative solutions for our customers

Technical Oversight
Guide the design and analysis of electric motors using FEA, electromagnetic simulation, and thermal modelingHold responsibility for approving technical documentation and test plansContinuously push for innovation using latest materials and processes to achieve resultsCustomer support and lifecycle engagement
Support customers through the design and development lifecycles, including simulation, prototyping, and performance validationLead technical discussions with customer engineering teams to evaluate their system needs, identify design constraints, and propose actionable solutionsProject and Stakeholder Management
Manage all projects from concept to production for Motor Design teamCommunicate with all levels of the organization effectively to present updates, customer requirements, market trends, and project statusesWhat we’re looking for
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field, with advanced degree (M.S.) preferredExperience leading a team – industrial motor design team experience a plusExpertise with Electromagnetic Finite Element AnalysisExperience with application-based motor design software tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, COMSOL)Experience managing external vendors for custom motor projectsExperience or familiarity with various motor topologies (e.g., IPM, PMa-SynRM, VFMMs)Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesEffective written and verbal communication skills that adapt to the audience (e.g., internal vs. customers)Experience with automotive or aerospace standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-160) is a plus.Our pay and benefits
