Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Labor and Delivery (L&D) - Women's Services Job Duration : 26 weeks Shift : 4x12 Nights, 48 hours per week Guaranteed Hours : 48 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years, with options for travelers with prior experience License : Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have : - 3 years of L&D experience- Mother-baby experience (preferred 1 year)- Experience attending deliveries, completing newborn care, triaging, circulating during C-sections, and providing postpartum couplet care- Experience with magnesium- Charge nurse experience preferred Job Description : 14 LDRP unit with patients staying in the same room - 2 OR suites for C-Sections where RNs will circulate and recover patients - 4 triage beds are staffed by travelers - Department performs approximately 90 births per month or 1,200 per year - Follows staffing standards with a 1 : 1 labor ratio unless pairing 2 cervical ripening patients.
Postpartum care is 1 : 3 couplets and triage at 1 : 3, utilizing a resource nurse if exceeding 4 patients - Serves a diverse community, including patients requiring medical intervention and pain control from home births- No placenta previa or placenta accreta cases are taken- RNs are required to titrate drips following protocols- An administrative supervisor is present during each shift along with a charge RN who does not take assignments- Resource nurses assist with breaks and attend all deliveries- Presence of 1 certified surgical tech per shift and 1 CNA, who may perform different roles if necessary- 24 / 7 OB hospitalist and Neonatal NP, with in-house anesthesia available- Available respiratory therapy equipment and assistance - Potential to float to other sites within the network for primary skills or as a sitter- Issued hospital scrubs required;
policy disallows fingernail lacquer, acrylic, or gel nails - NICU embedded within 7 of LDRP rooms - Travel duos will need separate transportation as they may be assigned to different sites and duties Additional Notes : Staffers may not work more than 6 consecutive shifts- Self-scheduling and block scheduling adjustments are made around core staff needs- No minimum weekend or holiday requirements for travelers, subject to unit needs and requests- Charting system : EPIC- Shifts and schedules are adjusted according to unit requirements and requests
