Superior Court Leadership Position

Applications are sought on behalf of the Superior Court in Yuma County. Yuma County Human Resources does not review any applications submitted for this position. All applications are forwarded to Superior Court Human Resources in Yuma County.

Under general supervision, provides leadership and administrative / operational oversight to various Superior Court programs and assigned organizational units; develops and implements policies and procedures that meet state requirements and ensure the efficient, effective, and timely administration of cases.

Accountable for all aspects of the operations of applicable programs and assigned organizational units provides oversight to all program functions; assists with the implementation of programs; identifies and recommends methods to improve management and operation of the court through enhanced work processes, increased court system responsiveness, efficient use of judicial resources, and quality service delivery; analyzes program workflow; recommends and implements changes to improve efficiency and responsiveness to internal / external needs; may perform systems analysis studies of structure, procedures, and operations of a Court Department or assigned organizational units, or court programs; represents the department in contacts with various governmental agencies, committees and stakeholder meetings; may direct and supervise the activities of Superior Court programs and staff; determines and ensures that the policies and procedures of court programs are carried out in accordance with the applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, and Federal rules and requirements; assists in development and tracking of performance measures, compiles, analyzes, and evaluates statistical data related to court program efficiency and effectiveness; writes proposals for grants and provides input for program funding and budget; may assist in providing training in reorganization, benchmarking, and other management topics; assures the Court's strategic plan, mission, programs, and services are continuously reviewed and improved upon to provide the best services to stakeholders; may work with other departmental managers / supervisors to coordinate operations between departments; performs related duties as required or assigned.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalency, A master's degree in Social or Behavioral Science, Judicial Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field; AND five years of progressively responsible supervisory, administrative or case management work experience OR any equivalent combination of experience and education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

This classification requires the applicant to pass criminal background checks.

A valid Arizona State Driver's License may be required.

Arizona Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) yearly accreditation is required.

Knowledge of : The principles and practices of administration, data processing, budgeting, purchasing, personnel administration and office management, grant protocols, and financial reporting; principles, practices, and trends in public administration, leadership, and management; court organization, functions, and services; applicable State of Arizona statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, and Federal rules and requirements; Yuma County Judicial Merit System and the Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees; Yuma County Superior Court policies and procedures; principles and practices of legal, ethical and professional rules of conduct; techniques and practices for efficient and cost-effective management of resources; community resources and services.

Skills in : Analyzing complex issues, collecting information, and recommending methods, procedures and techniques for resolution of issues; organizing, evaluating, analyzing and presenting data and information; preparing complete, comprehensive, and accurate reports; leading and coordinating court personnel to accomplish department goals and objectives; public speaking and delivering presentation to individuals and groups; communicating clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to : Understand and interpret public services issues, regulations, and state and federal laws; manage multiple projects and prioritizing multiple tasks and demands; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with court employees, users of the Court's services, and the public; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of superior court employees including judges, judicial staff, court administration, and the general public; plan, assign, train and / or supervise others.

Work is performed in a standard office environment and Court facilities.
