Job Description

You will be a QA Engineer on a software engineering team. Your main goal is to ensure the quality of the software produced by your team.

  • Perform both manual and automated testing.
  • Review design specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the software product.
  • Identify appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and validate; parameters may include general function, validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Execute test plans, including functional, system, regression, performance, service layer, API, and database layer.
  • Support a variety of testing approaches, with the ability to independently generate appropriate test scenarios.
  • Identify, log, and recreate error codes, bugs, and defects.
  • When a product does not perform within specifications, report defects to the software engineering team while identifying and recommending solutions, improvements, and updates.
  • Execute automated tests and manage the resulting defect log through the point of defect fix validation.
  • Identify, recommend, and deploy the most effective testing tools and techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of software and database testing.
  • Ability to create test plans and cases from specifications and / or verbal communications.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, product owners, and customer support.
  • Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to make positive connections with others.
  • Demonstrates strong ability to prioritize work, excellent organizational skills and initiative to improve processes.
  • Change agent demeanor. Must be a flexible thinker, with an ability to quickly adapt.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
