Job Summary :
As a paralegal at AIR, you will play a crucial role in supporting the legal team in various aspects of legal operations and compliance within the industry.
You will assist the team in contract management, regulatory compliance, and other legal matters essential to the company’s operations.
We are looking for a proactive mindset that prioritizes tasks. You seek out work rather than waiting for the team to hand it to you.

Duties / Responsibilities :
- Conduct legal research on relevant statutes, regulations, case law, and legal issues.
- Analyze and summarize legal documents, statutes, and regulations for legal team’s review and decision-making.
- Assist the legal team in preparing legal documents.
- Coordinate with external counsel, experts, and other stakeholders in litigation proceedings.
- Manage document production, discovery requests, and other aspects of litigation support.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs and policies.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting the tobacco industry and communicate relevant updates to the legal team.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to the company’s operations, including vendor contracts, licensing agreements, and marketing agreements.
- Maintain contract databases and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Provide administrative support to legal team, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing legal documents and files.
- Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Prior experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Strong knowledge of legal research methods and resources.
- Proficiency in legal software and tools, such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and document management systems.
- Highly organized and attentional to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral
- Ethical and professional conduct with commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or related field.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
