Genitourinary Pathologist and Director of Prostate SPORE Pathology Core

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at UCLA is searching for an outstanding physician to serve as a Genitourinary Pathologist and the Director of our Prostate SPORE Pathology Core in the Division of Anatomic Pathology.

Candidate must possess a MD or MD / PhD degree (or equivalent). Additionally, candidates should have relevant experience and credentials to be hired at the Associate or Full Professor level.

AP or AP / CP board certification is essential. Prior evidence of academic accomplishments, such as publications or grants, is expected.

Formal fellowship training in Genitourinary Pathology is preferred.

The candidate will be responsible for signing out cases in our Genitourinary service, participating in frozen section coverage, as well as leading and overseeing all activities of the Prostate SPORE Pathology Core.

This includes, but is not limited to, providing pathology services to support SPORE researchers / research projects, leading development of new / innovative pathology services required for research, engaging in or leading collaborative GU research occurring across the school and campus, and strategic planning.

UCLA and the Prostate SPORE offer a highly collaborative research environment that promotes interactions among faculty in the School of Medicine and other UCLA Departments and Schools.

UCLA Pathology and the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine are located on the main UCLA campus, a few minutes' walk from Basic science departments located within the School of Life Sciences as well as the School of Engineering.

There are numerous opportunities to participate in clinical, translational, basic science, quality and education research as well as in clinical trials.

The candidate will share responsibility for training residents and fellows with other faculty in the Division of Anatomic Pathology.

Creative contributions in clinical, educational or research projects are expected.
