About the Position
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in Austin, TX. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with over 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, a strong understanding of project specifications, and the ability to produce accurate, comprehensive bids for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
The ideal candidate is proficient in Accubid and Live Count software and brings a thorough knowledge of the estimating process from initial proposal to final closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client specifications.
- Review and interpret project blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work.
- Utilize Accubid and Live Count software for estimation tasks, ensuring consistency and precision in all bids.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements, assess risks, and develop competitive estimates.
- Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals, conducting necessary due diligence to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Maintain current knowledge of material costs, labor rates, and industry trends impacting project pricing.
- Assist in value engineering efforts, proposing cost-effective solutions to meet project objectives without compromising quality.
- Support the bid review process, identifying any cost discrepancies, risks, or opportunities for savings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial
- Proficiency in Accubid and Live Count estimating software.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce accurate, competitive estimates.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations is highly desirable.
