Senior Estimator

Job Description :

gpac, a 30+ years recruitment company, is proud to partner with a well-established company in the Heavy Civil industry. Our client, a family-owned business with over 50 years of industry experience, is seeking a talented Heavy Civil Senior Estimator to join their dynamic team.

This is an amazing opportunity for candidates who are passionate about the construction industry and have strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities :

• Analyze company data, exchange rates, and prices using software packages.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and requirements.
• Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and submit them within the specified timelines.

Essential Job Functions :

• Utilize industry knowledge and expertise to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on project quality.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current construction market trends, materials, and labor costs.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely bid submissions.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and industry events to network and gather information for bid preparations

Skills :

• 5 - 10 years of experience in heavy civil estimating or a related field.
• Proficient in analyzing company data and utilizing software packages for estimates.
• Solid understanding of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate and negotiate with stakeholders.
