Operations Analyst

About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Operations Analyst to join our growing Operations team and support our multi-asset trading platform. You'll be reporting directly to our Middle Office Manager and working as part of a team that serves as the critical bridge between our trading desks, technology infrastructure, and external partners.
In this role, you'll gain direct exposure to our options, ETF arbitrage, and fixed income trading strategies while working closely with traders, sales staff, accounting, and technology teams. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the inner workings of a sophisticated electronic trading operation while developing both technical and financial markets expertise.
A Day in the Life
Your typical day might include reconciling positions from our global trading sessions, collaborating with our technology team to optimize a new trade workflow, and analyzing market data costs with senior traders. You'll be solving real problems that directly impact our trading P&L and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade Settlement & Client Relations : Work with external counterparties and clearing firms to settle trades efficiently across global markets, handling everything from standard equity trades to complex derivative structures
- Workflow Implementation : Assist with onboarding new trading strategies and products, creating and maintaining complex data mapping between our proprietary systems and external platforms
- Reconciliation & Risk Management : Reconcile internal trade and position data versus clearing firm statements, identifying discrepancies and ensuring accurate risk reporting across our global portfolio
- Process Innovation : Iterate upon and create new operational procedures to scale our trading capabilities as we expand into new asset classes and geographic markets
- Data & Cost Management : Manage market data vendor relationships and costs with senior team members, optimizing our data spend across vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and proprietary feeds
- Cross-Functional Support : Assist accounting with month-end reconciliations and collaborate on building automated tools and dashboards for desk-level reporting
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative fieldExperience : Candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a middle office or related roleTechnical Proficiency : Demonstrated experience with Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VBA a plus) and at least one programming language - preferably Python. This can be through professional experience, personal projects or internshipsData Analysis : Experience working with large datasets, understanding data structures, and performing analysisCommunication : Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when interfacing with external clients and internal stakeholders under time pressureProblem-Solving : High level of curiosity, ability to self-teach, and proactive approach to identifying and solving operational challengesAttention to Detail : Exceptional accuracy when working with financial data and trade details - errors can be costly in our businessPreferred Qualifications
