Role Description

As a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor at St. Christopher's Inn within the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, you will provide counseling and support to individuals seeking recovery from alcohol and chemical addictions. You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, and monitor progress toward recovery goals. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Putnam County, NY, aimed at fostering recovery and positive outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in counseling individuals with substance use disorders
• Ability to conduct assessments and develop personalized treatment plans
• Skills in facilitation of individual and group therapy sessions
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of addiction recovery principles and best practices
• Licensed or certified in addiction counseling or related field
• Ability to work onsite in Putnam County, NY
• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field is a plus
• Experience working in a similar outpatient or residential treatment setting is beneficial
