Responsibilities Work in an acute care hospital setting within a Med / Surg Float Pool Manage a combined caseload of up to 61 beds across various Med / Surg units Patient population includes surgical and medical cases, such as total joints, fractures, bariatric surgeries, urology, CHF, CVA, respiratory, and diabetic cases Patient ratios are 1 : 5 on days and 1 : 6 on nights, with nurse aide support Utilizes CPAP, BiPAP, hi-flow oxygen equipment, and telemetry monitoring with monitor tech support Uses Epic EMR system 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required Floating to various Med / Surg units is expected Provide care and assessment to a diverse Med / Surg population with a variety of medical and surgical conditions Must participate in a travel-specific orientation and complete a unit-specific float checklist Scrub color is flexible; any scrub color may be worn Holiday coverage required for every other holiday RNs are required to float within the Med / Surg pool as needed Returning employees must not have been directly employed by related facilities (including CHI, Dignity, or CommonSpirit) within the past year, except PRN work through external firms Requirements Active ND or compact RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted) Minimum 2 years recent Med / Surg nursing experience required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Experience with Epic EMR preferred Ability to confirm telemetry strips in collaboration with monitor techs Copy of driver's license required for consideration Two professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years with employment dates and rehire eligibility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-615272.
