Position Summary :
Provides practical nursing care to patients in accordance with the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and PNHS policy.
Provides safe and effective nursing care by promoting a safe, therapeutic environment and by advocating for the best interests of individual patients.
Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights.
Education / Experience :
Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :
Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, and maintain standards of clinical skills and professional ethics as established by the Nurse Practice Act and PNHS.
Basic computer / keyboarding skills required.
Demonstrates knowledge of age related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure safety of patients.
Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing and skill in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Additional Information :
The Women's Center ObGyn Clinic is comprised of 25 clinicians and shares space with a number of other disciplines. This position will work as an LPN with a variety of providers and include duties that directly support our entire clinic.
The nursing role is comprised of rooming patients, administering injections, offering patient support and working with the nursing team.
To achieve success in this role the candidate should be able to communicate in a professional manner with patients as well as other team members and have the ability to prioritize duties.
A background in Epic and ObGyn is helpful but not required. New grads will be considered.
The Methodist Campus offers choice free parking and contract parking, on-site cafeteria, coffee shop, employee health department, and membership option to our gym.
Directly behind the campus are walking trails and peaceful outdoor lunch spots. We are located near Knollwood for nearby shopping and other conveniences.
Position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus for new hires.
We are open to filling this position with an LPN, MA or EMT. Requirements for each are outlined below :
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing. Must maintain a current state license of practical nursing.
One or more years of nursing experience is desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
Medical Assistant (MA) : Graduate from a Medical Assisting program accredited by The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
One or more years of experience desirable (preferably in a related field of medicine).
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) : High school diploma or GED and current BLS certification for health professionals through the American Heart Association or Red Cross required and maintained.
On-line BLS certification is not acceptable.Graduate of an accredited EMT program and current EMT License.
