Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
The Full Time Person in Charge performsmanagement-assigned duties, which may include but may not be limited toreceiving inventory, stocking and maintaining a store section, operating a cashregister, custom carry-out services and store cleaning.
Inaddition, assists the store manager in the management of daily store operationsin the absence of upper-management, helps supervise associates in theperformance of their assigned duties and also performs basic bookkeepingduties.
ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Other duties may be assigned.
- Carries storekeys to open and / or operate the front entry / exit doors, office, rollup door andregister.
- Assists the storemanager in the management of daily store operations in the absence ofupper-Management.
- Helps superviseassociates in the performance of their assigned duties and performs basicbookkeeping duties.
- Maintainsa store section, as assigned. Orders,receives and stocks merchandise using proper equipment. Reviews invoices / bills for accuracy.
Stocks shelves, end stacks, displays anddeli / freezer cases. Sets upadvertising / promotional displays. Marksprices on merchandise.
Operatesa cash register, receives cash from customers, makes change and processescheck / charge transactions. Reviewsprice / order books, price changes, advertisement forms and direct vendor pricinginformation.
Gives cash and / or creditrefunds, when approved by management. Verifies customer eligibility when selling cigarettes and / or alcoholicbeverages.
- Offersfriendly, courteous assistance to customers by providing them with currentstore and product information. Whenrequested, loads customer purchases into cartons and assists customers to theirvehicles.
- Performsbasic bookkeeping duties. Recordslost / damaged goods and store supplies using appropriate ledger. Performs check out function at the end ofeach business day.
Posts information on Direct Purchase Register and / or RMIAand collects data.
EDUCATIONand / or EXPERIENCE
One to three (1-3) years related experienceand / or training; or equivalentcombination of education and experience. Retail Management Certificate is desirable. PC skills preferred.
