Position Title : Charge Nurse - Nights - Rotating Weekends
Department : Nursing
Reports To : Director of Nursing
Supervises : Staff Nurses
Entry Level Qualification :
Graduate of approved School of Nursing, current State license (Associate’s Degree in Nursing required) (Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred);
One (1) year behavioral health nursing required, two (2) years behavioral health / addiction medicine, two (2) years medical / surgery or acute care nursing experience preferred.
Must have good critical thinking skills, prioritization, organization, delegation, communication, patient / family education, and team work.
1.Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and sit.
2.Will be required to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, or reach.
3.Must be able to constantly speak, see, and hear.
General Responsibilities :
To maintain order in the unit
Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records ; and 45 CFR Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
This position has unrestricted access to patient identifying information and patient health information.
Essential Functions :
1.Prioritize and delegate / assign tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff.
2.To organize and carry out emergency response
3.Team work and collaboration with other disciplines
4.Patient / Family education
5.Use of good critical thinking skills to ensure proper care to patients
6.Entering / Verifying MD orders
7.Ability to work in constant state of alertness as to perform the job safely.
8.Ability to work in cooperative manner with co-workers, manager, clients, and prospective clients.
9.Regular attendance.
10.Other duties as assigned.
