ABOUT THIS ROLE

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our growing engineering team. They will be pivotal in developing robust backend systems that enhance our financial services software solutions.

This role taps into optimizing and innovating on existing applications and designing new technological frameworks to meet the heightened demands of the marketplace.

As part of our engineering team, you will contribute directly to projects that process millions of daily transactions, helping to streamline, automate, and democratize access to financial markets.

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend components and services.
  • Collaborate with team members to convert business needs into technical specifications and system designs.
  • Manage the full software development lifecycle including testing, integration, and deployment using Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD) practices.
  • Maintain and upgrade the code quality via best practices, including conducting code reviews, and implementing unit and automated tests.
  • Write comprehensive integration and unit tests to ensure reliability and functionality.
  • Analyze and enhance application performance, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Support the production systems that you build. This includes tasks related to building, deployment (CI / CD), and monitoring using tools like DataDog and PagerDuty.
  • Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, promoting knowledge sharing and expertise on software development tactics and new technologies.

Education and / or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Backend Developer or in a similar role.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing scalable backend systems, ideally within a financial services or fintech environment.
  • Experience with relational database management systems; particular experience with Postgres AlloyDB and familiarity with BigQuery is highly preferred.

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiar with Google Cloud and understanding of infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of tackling complex algorithmic challenges.
