Job Title : Speech-Language Pathologist
Location : Montebello, California
Position Overview :
Montebello Unified School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic interventions for students with communication disorders.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student success and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of children.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' speech and language needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication goals within the classroom and educational environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and other team meetings to review student progress and develop goals.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- California state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- California Educator Credential in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility to obtain.
- Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Required Licensure and Certifications :
- State Licensure : Must hold a valid Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
- Professional Certification : Must possess the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Educator Certification : Must hold or be eligible for a California Educator Credential in Speech-Language Pathology.
