Pay Range : $18.00 per Flat Rate Hour - $50.00 per Flat Rate Hour

$45,000 / year - $150,000 / year) Pay is dependent on proficiency.

Knudtsen Foothills Lincoln Mazda is seeking a Service Technician to join the Knudtsen team. Knudtsen is a family-owned and operated company that provides the Spokane and Post Falls communities with new and used cars, full-service body shops and service departments, as well as genuine Mazda and Lincoln Parts.

Summary of Position

Our service department is seeking someone who can add to the team as a Service Technician that is responsible for quickly and accurately performing automotive repairs in accordance with Knudtsen and Ford standards, while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Service vehicles in a timely manner for routine scheduled maintenance in accordance with dealer and manufacturer recommendations

Diagnose and identify necessary repairs

Perform approved repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications

Ability to communicate with the supervisor on a regular basis about work performed, necessary changes to approved repairs, or any other concerns related to the repair or maintenance of a vehicle

Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined

Experience in the use of computerized diagnostic equipment

Produce legible and accurate reporting to reflect performed work

Participate in paid manufacturer training

Maintain a clean working environment on the automotive service floor

Follow all safety requirements to comply with company policies, local and federal regulations

Explain automotive problems and repairs to Service Advisors and / or clients

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

3+ years of Service Technician experience preferred

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

B Level qualifications including diagnostic, electrical and engine repair

Dexterity, requiring a stead hand, excellent hand eye-coordination

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel

Ability to pass all pre-employment testing including background check and drug screening

Basic computer skills required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, and speak and listen, both over the phone and in person to customers and fellow employees, in order to perform the above listed duties.

The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to work in a seated position, climb or balance and taste or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 75-100 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Team Members regularly works 45-50 hours per week. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and chemicals.

Frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and / or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and combustibles.

Fast paced working environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
