Duties and Responsibilities :
- Review customer order and specifications. Verify compressor designs through in-house calculation spreadsheets. Ensure project requirements and manufacturing details are captured and communicated effectively to A&T, Project Management and Operations according to company standards.
- Selection of supporting equipment (motors, heat exchangers, instruments, gages, etc). Create diaphragm compressor bills of material specific to each order using configuration tools.
- Aid in the disposition of non-conforming parts and troubleshoot failure points during testing and commissioning.
- Look for and communicate continuous improvement of both products and processes.
- Active engagement in final inspection of all reciprocating diaphragm compressors before shipment.
- Strong technical direction of compressor diagnosis, overhaul and repair efforts in response to customer warranty claims and operational issues in the field.
- Lead the design / layout development for a new reciprocating diaphragm compressor test stand design project.
- Work with engineering, purchasing, and A&T personnel to specify components and required set-up for assembly and testing as governed by Sundyne and / or customer specs.
- Interact with customers, engineering, and third-party inspectors during all stages of witness testing.
- Lead design oversight and safe operation of Sundyne’s diaphragm compressor testing facility, including customization of test loop P&ID’s as required.
- Oversee scope of work including hydrostatic and gas leakage tests, mechanical running tests, I&C (Instrumentation & Control) functional testing and troubleshooting.
- Responsible for test data review and approval and test report generation.

- Previous experience with design / testing / operation of rotating equipment, preferably compressors or pumps.
- Previous experience with Controls and / or PLC automation is a plus.
- Familiarity with the oil and gas industry and gas processing strongly preferred. Alternative energy experience (H2 refueling) a definite plus.
- Relentless drive for improvements in safety, quality and processes.
- Competency with Excel VBA macros or willingness to learn.
- Practice Lean manufacturing / six sigma methodology to maintain best-in-class work-space, safety and preventative maintenance.
Qualifications :
- 7-10 years of related experience.
- BS Engineering degree, Mechanical preferred.
- Mechanical background and proven mechanical aptitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn.
- Willing to travel up to 10%.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Skillset with Microsoft Office products Excel, Outlook, Word, as well as Manufacturing Resource Planning systems.
- General knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII and API 618 a definite plus.

Compensation Details
Annual Salary : $90,000.00 - $105,000.00
Additional Compensation
The Salary offered will be determined based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, and will be compared with internal equity along with market data for this position.
This position may be eligible for an annual bonus through the company bonus program. This position may also be eligible to receive a Relocation bonus, payable as a taxable lump sum, in accordance with the Sundyne Relocation Policy.
