About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Services Technician Job Specialty : Operating Room Technician / Surgical Technician Job Duration : 12 Weeks Shift : Day 3x12-Hour (08 : 30 - 21 : 00) Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Must have 3 years of experience;
Unit does not accept first-time travelers License : Compact or appropriate state license Certifications : - Required : BLS- Preferred : NBSTSA Must-Have : - Peripheral vascular and hybrid OR experience- Experience with Gen, GU / GYN / CRS procedures Job Description : Provide support in the operating room, specifically with peripheral vascular and hybrid OR procedures.
- Assist with procedures involving abdominal aortic aneurysm, endovascular AAA, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop / tib bypass, embolectomy, aortograms / fistulagrams, AV fistulas, and AV grafts.
- Support general surgical procedures including TAH, TLH, vaginal hysterectomy, robotic cases, laparoscopic ectopic, D&C, laparoscopic cases, laparotomy, gastrectomy / liver resection, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, soft tissue procedures (biopsy, hernia).
- Experience with ECMO in the pediatric intensive care unit is an advantage.- Handle advanced procedures such as Whipple, colectomy, abdominal perineal resection, anal cases, PCNL.
- Cover breaks, lunches, and relief during the first half of the shift.- Be prepared for PV call duties and have a flexible schedule to manage incoming calls.
- Maintain adherence to safety and procedural protocols in all operating room settings.- Ensure compliance with COVID-19 and flu vaccination requirements, with exceptions for medical or religious reasons.
It is essential for candidates to have strong capabilities in managing complex surgical cases and to be adaptable to a dynamic operating room environment.
