THIS POSITION CAN BE REMOTELY BASED WITHIN THE UNITED STATES

Purpose :

You will support Substation and Transmission projects with focus on electrical protection and control activities for Worley and its Customers as an integral part of the Power Networks team.

Responsibilities :

  • Technical execution of complex protection and control project assignments applied to both brownfield and greenfield projects for various clients.
  • Preparation of engineering drawings and documents, calculations, and other miscellaneous deliverables as required.
  • Supervise / coordinate other engineers of equal and lesser experience to successfully deliver a project.
  • Complete tasks in accordance with project procedures, applicable codes and / or standards, on schedule and within budget.
  • Discuss technical problems and communicate effectively with other project personnel and outside Customers.
  • Perform independent audits and reviews of technical work.
  • Perform proposal preparation, proposal estimates, and provide input to scope documents and client presentations.
  • Perform the function of a team leader that is capable of solving complex issues and act as a lead engineer responsible for the quality of the deliverables.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment with ability to work independently or as part of a group when and as required.
  • Interface with other departmental staff, project management, and with outside Customers.
  • Ability to travel to job sites to perform site walkdown.
  • Responsible for the quality assurance of the documents to the applicable drawing standards and responsible for the proper document management procedures are followed.

What you will bring :

Technical and Industry Experience :

  • Extensive experience in protection and control engineering for switchyards and substations including supervisory experience (up to and including 500kV voltage class stations).
  • Experience working in project leadership role.
  • Experience in estimating project costs and writing proposal content.
  • Has a competent understanding of regulations, electrical codes, manufacturing standards and industry standard practices.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills that permit working efficiently alongside senior substation engineers and designers in a team setting.

Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :

Required :

4 or 5 year Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.

Preferred :

Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States.
