Responsibilities :
- Act as case manager for students on IEPs for anydisability category.
- Coordinate referralassessment and IEP processes for students referred to specialeducation.
- Attend initial SSTs when necessarywhen assessment is requested.
- Follow all SELPAprotocols policies and procedures.
- Monitorstudent progress towards goals and objectives and deliver cohesiveprogress reports to parents coordinating progress monitoring withall service providers.
- Schedule convene andfacilitate IEP meetings.
- Monitor the provisionof all Special Education services including accommodations andmodifications provided in all educational settings.
- Conduct Academic Achievement Assessments and writereports based on results possessing the ability to deliver resultsduring IEP meetings.
- Conduct informalassessments and curriculumbased measurements and use results forprogram decisions.
- Coordinate collaborate andintegrate Special Education services with the regular educationprogram for all students on the caseload.
- Provide direct or consultative services as defined on theIEP for Specialized Academic Instruction and / or to support behaviorsocial / emotional and / or executive functioning skills.
- Ensure all staff working with students on the caseloadhave copies of necessary IEP documents to ensure IEP compliance intheir setting while maintaining confidentiality.
- Keep accurate detailed and organized physicalrecords.
- Collaborate with staff administrationservice providers parents and any other applicable persons tocoordinate and maintain the IEP meeting calendar andschedule.
- Modify general education curriculumand support staff in doing so when applicable.
Qualifications :
- Possess a California Mild / Moderate Education SpecialistCredential to case manage and provide Special Education services tostudents on IEPs in a Resource Specialist Program.
- Must possess a Baccalaureate or higher degree from anaccredited college or university.
- Knowledge ofWaldorf Pedagogy preferred but not required.
- Ability to apply knowledge principles theories techniquesand strategies of current research in specific fields includingdyslexia and evidencebased practices for learning disabilitiesbehavior and social / emotional.
- Ability toadhere to all Special Education timelines and deadlines ensuringthe same for additional service providers and general educationstaff for assessments and meetings.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of SEIS for IEP draftingand case management.
- Knowledge and experiencewith a wide range of K12 interventional material in all subjectareas showing flexibility in attending professional development forprograms if needed.
- Ability to plan organizeand develop behavior management programs and interventions forstudents through a MultiTiered System of Support (MTSS).
- Support all school staff in understanding and adhering toMTSS and Special Education processes.
- Knowledge of Special Education law and how to apply thisknowledge to write legally defensible IEPs.
