The Director of Marketing & Communications oversees the execution of high quality marketing and communication deliverables for Scheck Hillel Community School.
The Director will expertly manage and mentor an on-site and partially remote team. As a critical leader in the advancement team, the Director will ensure planning and budget are aligned to organizational priorities.
The Director will translate institutional goals, mission, and objectives into campaigns and tactics that engage and deepen our families’ and the broader community’s connection with Scheck Hillel Community School.
We seek an inspiring individual with proven leadership experience, fluent in online and offline tools that can coach an enthusiastic team on how to make more impactful storytelling the heart of Scheck Hillel communication.
Responsibilities : Deliver comprehensive marketing strategy that balances the needs of stakeholders with initiatives and content that will be engaging and resonate with the Scheck Hillel community.
Manage and coach direct reports (on-site, and remote). Provide regular feedback in weekly meetings. Develop and maintain a marketing and communications calendar that is executive ready, reflecting institutional priorities.
Manage output of high-quality internal and external deliverables to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Optimize and implement processes for planning, briefing, feedback and approvals to improve efficiency and accountability.
Oversee social media presence, website content, manage paid online and offline media, SEO, email, SMS / messaging, signage, internal publications, multimedia collateral, and other channels / products.
Strategically manage communication channels and budget in accordance with performance metrics. Regularly meet with key stakeholders to prioritize projects and proactively plan and prepare for future initiatives.
Utilizing our mission, lead by example with equal emphasis on quality of work, creativity and respect for others. Oversee contractors and vendors.
Develop analytics to track key programs and post production review of key initiatives. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have 5 years of marketing leadership experience developing and leading comprehensive campaigns across digital (social, email, web) and traditional (signage, print, events) mediums with an appropriate return on investment and proven results.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field. Strong process and meeting facilitation skills with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, think creatively, and lead teams to generate solutions.
Have experience leading teams (internal and external) and working with outside third party providers (creative, digital, PR, web, and marketing agencies).
Demonstrated superior capability to effectively manage and deliver multiple, overlapping projects while working within budget, schedule, scope and quality components / constraints.
Experienced using a digital project management tool (such as Monday.com, Asana, Wrike, Jira, etc.) Strong presentation, communication, and leadership skills to effectively work with all constituents of the community.
Hands-on proficiency with technology, experience in digital marketing (paid, SEO), social media, email / SMS, offline, publications, signage.
Directly oversee the development of click-worthy social media content and websites. Experience with email marketing software.
Blackbaud experience is a plus. Experience developing marketing materials, collateral and brand assets (digital and traditional) maintaining brand integrity and consistency.
Highly organized individual with strong time-management skills and strong commitment to continuous improvement and results Possess a calm and flexible professional attitude with ability to process and successfully execute time-sensitive requests.
Proficiency with designer software including but not limited to : Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, etc. Physical Requirements and Work Environment : On-campus work only;
no hybrid or remote options available. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, Work on-call and after hours, including Sundays Prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions Frequently moves around the campus.
Sometimes works in a stressful environment, effectively dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts with the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.
