Role Summary The role at Rivian is crucial to advancing the aerodynamic performance of our Electric Adventure Vehicles, with a core responsibility of developing new technologies and concepts.

This includes leading the design and manufacture of wind tunnel models and test assets and managing their production, assembly, and logistics.

With a minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive or motorsport industry and high proficiency in parametric 3D CAD modeling (preferably Catia), the candidate will collaborate closely with Aerodynamicists to design fixtures for validating designs and simulations.

Strong communication and leadership skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of design for manufacturing. The position also requires frequent domestic and international travel to test facilities.

Responsibilities Lead the design and manufacture of wind tunnel models and test assets. Manage the manufacturing, assembly, and logistics of test assets.

Lead data acquisition systems and instrumentation, installing and specifying systems and sensors. Produce Engineering drawings for component manufacturing.

Work with Aerodynamicists to develop new technologies. Support Aerodynamicists with parametric CAD models for CFD analysis.

Design fixtures to test and validate designs and simulations across all fluid dynamics disciplines including aeroacoustics and soiling.

Frequent domestic and international travel to test facilities Qualifications Educated to a degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.

A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in a similar role within the automotive or motorsport industry. Extremely high proficiency in parametric 3D CAD modelling (preferably Catia) is essential.

A deep understanding of design for manufacturing. Manufacturing experience preferred; welding, turning, 3D printing etc.

Strong communication and leadership skills. The ability to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. Instrumentation and data collection experience (Pressure tapping, anemometers, load cells, LabView) desirable.

Must possess the attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and changing environment. Minimum age of 21 No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5 year period) No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving / operating a vehicle Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring Pay Disclosure Salary range for California Based Applicants : $154,000-$192,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
