Job Summary

The Vice President of Product and Application Development leads our Discovery / Development Business Division, steering its strategic direction to develop and enhance an innovative product portfolio, including proteins, antibodies, kits, and instrument solutions tailored for drug developers.

This role demands a proven leadership track record, an acute understanding of evolving biopharmaceutical industry trends, and the ability to foster cross-functional collaboration to drive product innovation.

A deep knowledge of various industry modalities and their projected trends over the next 3-5 years is essential. This position offers flexibility to be based in Beijing or Boston, Massachusetts, and requires extensive international travel to align and drive global development strategies.

  • Strategic Vision : Develop and implement a strategic vision for the division, focusing on innovative product solutions and applications that meet the current and future needs of the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Leadership : Lead and inspire the product and application development teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence across all levels of the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration : Drive cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, and R&D teams to ensure a cohesive approach to product development and application support.
  • Industry Trends and Modalities : Stay abreast of the latest trends, technologies, and developments in the biopharmaceutical industry and life science discovery, particularly in various modalities (such as small molecules, biologics, cell and gene therapies), and integrate these insights into strategic planning and product innovation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Engage with key stakeholders in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors, including customers, partners, and academic institutions, to gather insights, forge strategic partnerships, and enhance the company’s market position.
  • Budget Management : Oversee the development and management of the division’s budget, ensuring alignment with broader company financial goals and objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance : Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards and practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Representation : Represent ACROBiosystems at international conferences, summits, and industry meetings, showcasing our leadership in the field and engaging with thought leaders worldwide.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

Educational Background : Advanced degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a closely related field.

Ph.D. or MBA is highly preferred.

  • Industry Experience : A minimum of 15 years of experience in a leadership role within the biotech / pharmaceutical industry, specifically in product and application development.
  • Leadership and Team Management : Demonstrated success in leading and managing diverse and high-performing teams, with a strong aptitude for fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Industry Knowledge : Extensive knowledge of current trends, technologies, and advancements in the biopharmaceutical industry and life science discovery.
  • Modalities Expertise : A deep understanding of different modalities within the industry (such as small molecules, biologics, cell, and gene therapies) and their projected trends over the next 3-5 years.
  • Strategic Planning and Innovation : Proven track record in strategic planning, innovation, and bringing new products to the global market.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent communication skills with proficiency in Mandarin.
  • Travel : Willingness and capability to travel extensively on a global scale.

Preferred Qualifications Education and Experience

  • Global Market Experience : Experience working in global markets, particularly with a focus on product and application development for drug discovery and development.
  • Industry Network : Strong network within the biopharmaceutical and life sciences communities.
  • Trend and Technology Evaluation : Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and capitalize on emerging trends and technologies to drive product development.

Salary Range

$180,000 to $230,000 (DOE) + Bonus
