As a dedicated Business Risk and Controls Advisor, you will be positioned in the first line of defense to ensure the overall effectiveness of risk andpliance management programs, risk analytics and operations in the business.
This role will partner and collaborate withpliance and Risk Management, as well as Business Operations, IT, Audit Services, and Regulators to support risk andpliance-based initiatives.
You will be responsible for supporting business leader adherence to the established risk framework and ongoing supervision of business controls including risk and control self-assessments, identification, and evaluation of control effectiveness, identifying control failures, facilitating remediation, internal and external audits, and regulatory exams, and monitoring of risk exposures to strengthen the overall control environment.
You will also lead risk assessment data and uses critical thinking to identify key data-driven insights.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations : San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL OR This position can work remotely in the continental with occasional business travel.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do :
Lead and drive solutions for stronger controls, and in support of risk and / or regulatorypliance related initiatives which may include oversight of procedures / process, accurate regulatory reporting and filing, documenternance, Risk control self-assessments, procedureernance, control design, new product controls,pany or Staff Agency Third Partyernance, or qualityernance.
Perform ongoing supervision and oversight of controls and share knowledge with team members to evaluate the effectiveness of established business controls.
Responsible for risk data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, using business intelligence tools.
Anticipate business needs and proactively finds opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment through actionable insights.
Assist with translating control deficiencies into action plans and provide rmendations to enhanceernance practices in alignment with frameworks.
Partner with customers to drive improvement efforts to correct or prevent unfavorable trends and assess the impacts.
Lead project team through concept, planning, execution, and implementation phases for effective and timely Risk remediation.
Advise senior management on the status of their control environment related to Risk identification and control weaknesses.
Identifies critical areas to monitor and advance issues and findings to appropriate partners.
Establish and maintain processes, procedures, and tools for managing exception alerts as they occur, including monitoring of resulting exception cases.
Provide control oversight to ensurepliance with laws and regulations.
Serve as a primary resource to team members.
Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, and controlled in accordance with policies and procedures.
What you have :
Bachelor’s degree : OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Minimum 6 years' experience supporting risk-related,pliance related, or business control design activities; OR 6 years' experience in a relevant quantitative field;
- OR Advanced degree or designation in a risk management or quantitative field, and 4 years' experience supporting risk-related, and / orpliance-related, or business control design activities;
OR PhD in a risk management or quantitative field, and 2 years of experience supporting risk-related, and / orpliance-related, or business control design activities.
Knowledge of federal laws, rules, regulations, and applicable guidance to area supported for example : OCC Heightened Standards, BSA / AML, REG E, UDAAP / UDAP, TILA / REG Z, SCRA, FCRA, MLA.

Ability to drive action, write details of an issue so and independent third party can understand clearly, raise when timelines are in jeopardy and push key resources to keep the issue on track formitted dates.
Knowledge of the products, systems, data, and processes for the specific lines of business.

The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is : $89, - $172, .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
