Responsibilities
As a Midas general service technician, you’ll be exposed to and have responsibility for performing a wide range of automotive maintenance services, including :
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance
- Oil changes (gasoline and diesel vehicles)
- Replacement of air filter, cabin filter and fuel filters
- Transmission, power steering, brake and coolant flushes
- Visual safety and courtesy inspections
- Mounting, balancing and rotating tires
- Wheel alignment, suspension repairs
- Brake jobs, replacing pads, rotors, calipers and brake hoses
- Replacement of water pumps, thermostat, radiator, belt and hoses
- Clutch jobs, valve jobs
- Timing belts, serpentine belts and tensioners
- Computer diagnoses and repairs
- Exhaust repairs and necessary weldings
- Air condition service, replacement of A / C compressor and condenser
- Testing and replacing batteries, starters and alternators
- Changing bulbs
- Maintaining and cleaning shop areas
- Other shop maintenance items as needed
Qualifications
- Experience ASE certified technicians preferred
- Entry level technicians must have prior knowledge of automotive basics
- Knowledge of shop equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license
