5 South is a 26 bed surgical unit specializing in orthopedics, general surgery, and neurosurgery. Our outstanding staff includes 13 Orthopedic Certified Registered Nurses, reflecting our staff’s dedication to being the very best they can be.

Position Highlights :
- Work / Life : Hours : 7A-7P (7P-7A), 3 12 hour shifts per week

Responsibilities :
- Accountable for direct patient care for assigned patients on the nursing unit and providing leadership within the nursing team.
- Responsible for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care.
- Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting team effort among co-workers.
- Use professional judgement and critcal thinking to prepare, prioritize and execute the patient's plan of care consistent with patient assessment data and physician's treatment plans and professional standards of evidence based practice.
- Accountable for the management of personnel, supplies, staffing / productivity, and equipment for the shift.
- Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
Job Requirements :
- Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required. BSN or MSN preferred.
- Licensure : Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.
- Experience : Minimum of one (1) year RN experience required.
- BLS and ACLS required. Orthopedic Nursing Certification preferred.
- Other : Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required.
Safety Sensitive Designation :
This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.
