Your Impact :
This position will assist INPRS’ Finance department with various actuarial reporting duties. The position will work on multiple aspects of pension plan risk management, including gathering and evaluating data, establishing relevant risk metrics, setting tolerance thresholds, identifying concentrations of risk, and producing communications on findings.
Other areas of INPRS plans may be involved, depending on the specific projects available during the course of the internship.
Essential Duties :
- Provide support to INPRS’ financial reporting.
- Gather and evaluate data from pension funds.
- Set risk metrics and evaluate the performance of pension funds against metrics.
- Set up trend data for analysis of current periods and going forward.
- Produce reports and summary presentations on findings.
- Other special projects related to the ongoing management of INPRS plans.
Job Requirements :
- Attention to detail in evaluating data specific to pension plan risks.
- Skill in prioritizing work assignments to manage workload in a changing environment and in completing detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate project progress and final results.
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, agency staff, and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.
- Considerable skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint to prepare correspondence, presentations, spreadsheets, charts and reports.
Experience and Qualifications :
- Must be a current enrollment as a rising senior or junior toward an undergraduate or graduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or similar field from an accredited college or university.
- Successful completion of one or more actuarial examinations is preferred; not required.
- Must be available to work at least 10 weeks from May 2025 through August 2025.
