Senior Software Engineer, Async Platforms.

The Foundations Backend teams within the Foundations Platform work with Squarespace's product, platform, & infrastructure teams.

We provide frameworks to help create the Java microservices that power Squarespace & platform offerings for event streaming, job orchestration, & batch processing on-premises & in the cloud.

As a Senior Engineer on the team, you will build new platform features & support internal customers as Squarespace continues to scale.

You will report to the manager of the Foundations Backend org in our NYC office. This is a hybrid opportunity with three days in the office.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will :

• Work hands-on with technologies like Java, Spring, Kafka, MongoDB, Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, & GCP.
• Build frameworks & tools for Java-based microservices across all of Squarespace.
• Collaborate & integrate with upstream & downstream teams.
• Contribute to design discussions & collaborate with engineering teams across the company to enhance platform solutions.
• Be a technical leader & mentor within the team.
• Work with engineering teams across the company to ensure the successful adoption of best practices.
• Participate in the team production on-call rotation.

Desired Experience :

• 6+ years of experience developing backend systems with Java & Spring.
• 2+ years of experience deploying & maintaining distributed applications in Kubernetes-based environments.

Cash Compensation Range : $128,500 $231,500 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, & location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Squarespace employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
