Job Summary
Responsibilities of this position include development, implementation and organization of Blackbaud, Raiser’s Edge NXT and database systems or any other applicable systems.
As a member of the Gift Administration and Data Integrity (GADI) team within University Advancement, the selected individual will ensure data integrity, and provide systems innovation and expertise.
The Advancement Reporting and Data Analyst will also create reports and resources to support data-driven decisions and fundraising efforts.
This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Development California.

- Must have a demonstrated knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge and / or other relational database systems.
- Must have advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills; be familiar with Office 365 and apps, such as OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams.
Must have excellent computer skills and the ability and willingness to learn and utilize new applications / methods as necessary in order to complete work as efficiently as possible.
- Outstanding analytical and mathematical skills.
- Must have the ability to create, coordinate, and manage detail-oriented projects; comfortably juggle multiple priorities and changing circumstances;
organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines with a proven record of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Excellent verbal, organizational, and written communication skills. Must be able to professionally interact with administration, faculty, staff and students and current / prospective donors.
- Commitment to collegiality, teamwork, and ethical fundraising practices.
- Availability to occasionally work outside of the normal schedule for fundraising engagements and occasional weekend obligations.
- Experience working in a nonprofit fundraising environment is desired.
- Flexibility and ability to work remotely when the need arises, while adhering to the University’s telecommuting policy and procedures.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION :
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required.
- Experience with relational database computer systems and software is required.
- Certification or equivalent level experience with fundraising software, preferably Raiser’s Edge, is desired.
EXPERIENCE : Two years working with database systems. Advancement experience with higher education preference.
Essential Job Duties
Key Responsibilities
Data Integrity and Management
- In a timely and accurate manner, adhering to gift policies and procedures, perform the entry of gifts and commitments, track and produce pledge reminders, and provide acknowledgement and receipt of all philanthropic donations.
- Work collaboratively with University Financial Services & Treasury to manage and reconcile gift revenue records. This includes collaborating with this office to successfully close out each fiscal year and preparing University Advancement’s materials for the annual audit, 990 tax form, and other relevant inquiries from University Financial Services & Treasury.
- Update and maintain accuracy of all contact information through a quarterly Raiser’s Edge address finder method and manage a yearly data integrity and clean-up process.
- Regularly review, investigate, and identify database cleanup and integrity, including record duplicates, invalid or incorrect manually entered or uploaded data, etc.
to maximize accuracy and usability of data in accordance with guidelines and standards.
- Perform data imports : review, clean, and standardize source data; create and run import files; perform quality control and correct inconsistencies after import to maintain data integrity.
- Provide timely and courteous responses to inquiries from donors and other constituents; confirm receipt of donations, investigate discrepancies between donor records and Raiser’s Edge, etc.
- As needed, serve as liaison between IT and other staff to help resolve issues that impact operations and users.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and year-end gift revenue and gift reports for University Advancement, College Deans and Budget Officers, and other University staff as needed.
- Provide constituent lists for solicitations, mailings, communications, and University event invitations.
- In collaboration with the Director of Donor Experience and Engagement, produce annual tax acknowledgement letters in January.
- Write queries to produce data output documents to support fundraising reporting requirements; assist colleagues in the production / running of reports.
- Provide accurate analysis of fundraising goals and historic donor information for executive level reporting needs.
Other Duties
- Support University Advancement and University Events team with event preparation and registration as needed.
- Create, oversee, and troubleshoot user accounts, roles, and privileges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
