We’re now hiring a R&D Applications Specialist for our team at Kenny’s Candy & Confections. A successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the creation of new product formulations. The Opportunity

As the R&D Applications Specialist you will work closely with the whole KKC leadership team but largely with our R&D manager and Food tech team. You will be responsible for assisting in the creation of new product formulations, assist in the R&D process, help create and monitor a consistent high-quality product and maintain or develop new customer and supplier relationships for Kenny’s Candy and Confections.

The responsibilities of the position are listed below.

Your Responsibilities

• Gather and prepare material for benchtop samples
• Complete benchtop samples and collect data needed for future samples or scale up to Production
• Screen potential new ingredients according to documented procedures or as instructed
• Understand the transfer of formulas from benchtop to line trial
• Organize and retain benchtop and line trial samples for further review and shelf life analysis
• Accurately calculate ingredients for various batch sizes
• Coordinate, monitor, and document plant trials as directed
• Collect data, samples, and attend to detail during production line trials
• Organize and file collected data for future reference
• Accurately enter data into excel or other software platforms including Genesis Nutritional Software
• Ability to locate information in IFS or Trace Gains
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of production limitations and capacity
• Maintain a clean shared work space
• Communicate with R&D Team on project timelines and updates
