Position Overview : As the Production Manager, you will lead a custom fabrication shop with 20+ employees. Your responsibilities include overseeing, managing, and planning all production activities within our shop.
Your primary goal is to ensure that monthly production goals are met through strategic planning and effective leadership.
You'll report directly to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute production schedules, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles, including Continuous Daily Improvement, 5S, and 5 Why analysis.
- Lead a shop of 20-25 skilled employees, fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Inspire and motivate the team to consistently meet quality standards and project deadlines.
- Manage material inventory levels, optimizing procurement processes.
- Maintain a Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) target and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Enforce company policies related to safety, attendance, and general operations.
- Champion a safety-first culture within the shop.
- Interview, hire, and onboard new team members.
- Foster professional growth and development among existing staff.
- Manage shipments of products in and out of the facility, including packing lists, bills of lading, and labeling.
Qualifications :
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration).
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a Production Manager or other senior leadership role, preferably in architectural products or related industries.
- Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to build cohesive teams.
- Knowledge of architectural and technical drawings.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience with Inventory and Quality Control software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
