Carpenter - Skilled Tradesman
BRIEF DESCRIPTION :
$22.00 - $30.00 Per Hour
The Carpenter - Skilled Tradesman is an experienced and trainable laborer skilled in carpentry in multiple areas of residential and commercial rebuilding, with a demonstrated track record in insurance restoration work.
Effective communication skills are essential during the reconstruction process. Carpenters reports directly to the Project Manager.
Candidates are expected to possess a reliable truck and tools to execute tasks to a high standard.
Hourly Pay Range is : $21.00 - $36.00
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- General carpentry - residential and commercial
- Demolition
- Tile Work
- Hanging cabinets
- Trim carpentry-baseboards
- Door hanging and taping
- Painting
- Light electrical / plumbing
- Rough framing consisting of re-framing homes and setting trusses
- Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship and polite communication
- Comply with safety, quality & procedural standards
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :
This position has no direct reports
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS :
- Direct experience working as a skilled carpenter is required
- Knowledge of carpentry and use of carpentry related hand and power tools
- Self-motivated
- Work in confined areas (crawl space)
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Communicate effectively in oral and written forms to execute required paperwork
- Identify hazards in assigned work areas
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others
- Meet the mental and physical demands of the job
- Ability to work with people in a professional manner
- Maintains a valid and current driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Successfully pass a national criminal background check and motor vehicle report background check
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
EDUCATION :
High school diploma or GED equivalent required

TRAVEL :
Availability for travel in response to out-of-town projects and / or catastrophic events. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training or meetings.
