Description
To attract and close advertisers who want to sell their products and services via Broadcast TV and to achieve and exceed set goals in three key areas : Monthly Budget, New Business Development and Special Projects, Building Strong Relationships with Clients and Agencies.
Increase Revenue :
- Aggressively pre-sell, service and close all existing accounts for the purpose of increasing station revenue and shares.
- Develop new direct business at a rate of at least $5,000 a month in revenue ($60,000 for the year).
- Have a relationship at all appropriate levels when applicable : buyers, supervisor, AE client contact, etc.
- Responsible for collections of all accounts. Submit credit applications, run schedule, no discrepancies, collect full amount of invoice.
- Attain assigned monthly budget and need number for WSYT and WNYS.
- Target and sell WSYT / WNYS station marketing programs.
Planning and Organization :
- Meet with General Sales Manager each week to discuss key and target accounts, as well as new business development plans.
- Promptly attend sales meetings on a weekly basis.
- Plan day to be out of office by 10am, back by 3pm.
- Weekly Pending Report every Friday by 9am
- Keep updated account list, reviewed monthly with General Sales Manager. Master Account List must include all names, addresses and phone numbers of key accounts.
- Prepare an annual business plan each November for the following calendar year.
- Prepare a quarterly Battle Plan four weeks prior to the start of each quarter.
- Maintain a station battle book, including station programming, rate cards, sales one sheeters, ratings information, sports schedules, upcoming specials, and any other applicable information to maximize revenue.
Administrative :
- Involve sales management on all levels of Business : submission, positioning, closing-NO SURPRISES.
- Provide input on sales promotion ideas to sales management.
- Have traffic to copy coordinator 48 hours prior to the start of the schedule. Check all traffic orders and production instruction for accuracy.
- Maintain current knowledge of station programming and inventory.
- Capable of learning & training on appropriate station software.

- Possessing superior product knowledge of WSYT / WNYS and all competition.

Education : College graduate preferred
Driving Required : Yes
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000 annually
