Job Description

Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control business is seeking an Senior Operations Engineer to join the team. This position will support the production operations team at Santa Barbara Focalplane.

What You Will Be Doing

You will be managing and executing capital acquisition projects. Responsibilities include but are not limited to providing industrial engineering support through capacity modeling, standards development, factory performance measurement and visualization, and improvement projects.

This position also includes Industrial Engineering projects such as simulation modeling, factory layouts, facility expansion, MES development, Lean Six Sigma, and facilitating continuous improvement activities.

This position will report directly to the site Operations Engineering Lead.

For a level 3, we typically look for a Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience / combined education, with 5 years of professional experience;

or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree, or equivalent experience / combined education.

Desired skills

• Strong proficiency with discrete event simulation modeling such as Simio (preferred), Process Simulator, or AnyLogic.
• Strong proficiency with capacity modeling and analysis such as equipment / machine utilization, tool rate analysis, max rate analysis, or throughput improvement.
• Strong proficiency with continuous improvement initiatives such as cost reduction, HPU savings, schedule improvement, or quality / yield improvement using tools such as kaizen, value stream mapping, PFMEA, 5 Whys, or Fishbone diagrams.
• Trained in Lean Six Sigma tools and practices, and experience using statistical analysis.
• Experience with SAP and Apriso.
• Experience with SAP HANA, MS SQL, MySQL, or related database systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Python, JIRA, or Confluence.
• Strong communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate with data, data reporting, and data visualizations.
