Position Summary
The RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
EDUCATION :
Minimum : Education recognized by the State of Florida as qualification for Registered Nurse licensure.
Preferred : BSN
EXPERIENCE
Prior clinical experience in area of expertise preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE / REGISTRATION
Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida. BLS, ACLS, Basic EKG, critical care course and / or emergency care course that includes critical care didactic as part of course.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS :
- PALS within six (6) months
- TNCC within one year - Trauma Resus and TICU only. Optional for TSD
- ENPC within one year - Trauma Resus only. Optional for TICU and TSD
- CCRN, TCRN preferred

Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and / or disaster.
Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Education :
Required : Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience :
Preferred : Recent acute care experience.
Certifications :
Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy;
CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and / or PALS and / or NRP.
