As a LPN : Licensed Practical Nurse - Personal Care, you will carry out our Mission of Love by coordinating, delegating, and administering total care for residents on a specified shift and unit.
Our LPN : Licensed Practical Nurse - Personal Care is responsible for the following :
- Directs the nursing staff on assigned unit utilizing the team approach to resident focused care and supervises the CNA staff and assists in the ongoing evaluation of nursing personnel
- Performs all specialized LPN services on unit, such as medication pass, Foley insertion, would care, other specialized treatments and physician telephone orders
- Performs assessments on all new admissions, readmissions, and as changes in resident conditions dictate. Develops resident support plans per the finding of the resident's assessment.
Provides complete and accurate documentation in each medical record. Reports pertinent data to the Nurse Manager, the Administrator, and next of kin / Power of Attorney.
What You Have :
- A Temporary Practice Permit for a Graduate Practical Nurse or an LPN License.
- Current CPR certification.
- A sincere interest in and concern for quality of care for the elderly and for those with limited physical and / or mental capacity.
- Effective communication orally and in writing with supervisors, subordinates, peers, residents and their families, visitors to the facility, and other departmental personnel.
- Sound nursing judgment in the performance of responsibilities.
- The ability to analyze the effectiveness of medication and treatments and the potential for adverse reactions.
- Long-term care experience, preferred.
- LPN preferred, but will consider an RN
